We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Civil) with Bridges experience for ongoing work in Perth WA.

Position Summary:

Ensure the effective coordination and control of Engineering Works for a designated project through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control based on CaSE / Clients standards. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible in assisting to ensure the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality.
 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Quality, Environmental and Safety

  • Quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to Project Manager to maintain effective operation and project delivery 
  • Help monitor and control sub-contractors performance and ensures the quality and standard of workmanship is performed in accordance with the specifications 
  • Follows project quality plan 
  • Ensures non-conformances are recorded and corrective actions initiated as soon as practically possible 
  • Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action 
  • Adhere to safety plan for project and communicates it to project team members including suppliers and subcontractors 
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant HSE policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements
  • Assists with resolution of safety issues as directed by the Project Manager
  • Participates in the preparation of safe Work Method Statements in consultation with the work group carrying the proposed activity 
  • Ensure the engagement of subcontractors comply with the CaSE / clients safety management system and procedures 
  • Lead construction method statements approvals 
  • Lead by example by meeting safety KPIs whilst ensuring project team member(s) and subcontractor supervisor(s) are also meeting their safety KPIs 

Planning and Operations

  • Monitor implementation of construction methods including audits 
  • Help the Project Manager with the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model
  • Ensures site specific management plans are implemented 
  • Maintains and monitors the progress of work and advises the Project Engineer of significant changes and proposed remedial action 
  • Ensures the construction related aspects of the project meet or exceed the required performance targets in relation to time, cost and quality 
  • Ensures that programme is communicated to subcontractors, suppliers and internal staff to maintain commitment.
  • Prepares, maintains and achieves detailed short-term target programs for designated work areas 
  • Reviews the subcontractor’s construction program(s) and assists in identifying critical areas and integrates these into the Project program 
  • Review and procurement of appropriate resources to fulfil programme requirements (plant, labour, materials and sub-contractor requirements) 
  • Makes decisions and actions all correspondence in a timely manner 
  • Prepares Authority submissions and approval programme to fit within the project programme 
  • Consult regularly with site team lead and monitor site team effectiveness/satisfaction 

Communication 

  • Maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external shareholders on all matters relating to the construction activities
  • Participate in Client/contractor meetings and resolving Client/engineering and project management issues
  • Interacts with both on site personnel and other parties to create a positive work environment
  • Ensures regular two-way communication with the Project Engineer on all matters
  • Conducts regular site meetings to foster understanding, participation and enthusiasm 
  • Provides ongoing feedback, support, counsel, through informal discussion, regular review and formal performance appraisal and encourages feedback from staff 
  • Establishes and maintains a harmonious Client/ Customer relationship to assist project delivery and enhance Client satisfaction 
  • Establishes and maintains close relationships with Project Manager to drive program and results Ensures work compliance with site community relations and commitments
  • Facilitates daily work plan meeting, ensure required actions are implemented
