Kingsford Smith Drive is one of Brisbane’s busiest key roads, connecting Brisbane Airport to the CBD, Port of Brisbane, and the Australia TradeCoast region. The upgrade, completed in 2020, widened the road from four to six lanes and delivered major improvements to pedestrian and cycling infrastructure. These works significantly increased road capacity, reduced traffic congestion, and enhanced safety for all users.
CaSE provided Structural Project Engineers responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing in-situ high-strength concrete pours for the cantilever road structure. The structure, supported by over 150 piles, was constructed using marine-based methods, with crane barges lifting 50-tonne precast cantilever panels into place.
