The Queensferry Crossing is a road bridge in Scotland, constructed alongside the existing Forth Road Bridge. It carries the M90 motorway across the Firth of Forth, linking Edinburgh at South Queensferry with Fife at North Queensferry.
The bridge is a three-tower cable-stayed structure with an overall length of 2.7 kilometres (1.7 miles). As part of the project, new connecting roads and upgraded junctions were developed at Ferrytoll (Fife), South Queensferry, and Junction 1A on the M9.
The project was delivered by Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors (FCBC), a joint venture comprising American Bridge (USA), Hochtief (Germany), Dragados (Spain), and Morrison Construction (Scotland). The design joint venture included Ramboll (Denmark), Gifford (UK), Leonhardt, Andrä und Partner (Germany), and Grontmij (UK), while the independent design checker was a joint venture between AECOM (UK) and Scott Wilson (UK).
Many CaSE employees contributed to this landmark project through key roles within FCBC, primarily in the construction of the cable-stayed bridge superstructure and approach viaducts.
Following the bridge’s opening, CaSE was also commissioned to provide design and engineering services for finishing works and ongoing maintenance.
